This model is based upon Abernodwydd, a timber-framed thatched cottage built in Montgomeryshire in 1678. It is typical of farmhouses of the period from mid-Wales and the Marches. The actual cottage is now reconstructed at St. Fagans National Museum of History near Cardiff.
The model has an opening front and a removable interior and thatched roof.
