BRIDGE HOUSE, AMBLESIDE
This curious building was built in the 17th century and served as an apple store in the orchards of the Braithwaite Estate.
ST. JAMES’S CHURCH, BUTTERMERE
The tiny granite-built church of St. James’s is a familiar sight upon a rocky outcrop where the road down to Buttermere exits the Newlands Pass. It has a stained glass window (replicated in the model) of Mary and Martha
HILL TOP, NEAR SAWREY
Hill Top is famous for being the Lakeland home of Beatrix Potter. Both house and garden appear in The Tale of Tom Kitten.

THE TOWER BANK ARMS, NEAR SAWREY
The village pub, which backs onto the garden of Hill Top, was illustrated by Beatrix Potter in The Tale of Jemima Puddleduck.
THE GRASMERE GINGERBREAD SHOP
Sarah Nelson’s Gingerbread Shop was originally the tiny village school. It stands in a corner of the churchyard. William Wordsworth taught here in the early 19th century.
